engage Mutual Assurance, the new sponsor of rugby league's Super League, has appointed GEM to manage the sponsorship actively.
In February, engage Mutual Assurance and the RFL announced a two-year sponsorship agreement for the competition which sees the twelve leading rugby league clubs in the country compete over eight months. The season culminates in the Grand Final at Old Trafford in front of 65,000 fans, where the winning team will be crowned engage Super League Champions.
Andy Kenny, who heads the GEM account team, said: 'It is ideal to be working with a company at the beginning of a new agreement. The sponsorship brings with it some great opportunities for engage Mutual Assurance and we are looking forward to working closely together to ensure it delivers real benefits to the business.'
The appointment further strengthens GEM's credentials within rugby league. The agency also looks after Powergen's sponsorship portfolio, which includes rugby league's Powergen Challenge Cup.
Karl Elliot, Director of Marketing at engage Mutual Assurance, said: 'We were impressed with GEM's credentials and ability to grasp our objectives and needs for our sponsorship. We are confident they will assist us ably in adding value to both our business and the Super League itself.'
